STORY
Held annually since 1810 in Munich, Germany, Oktoberfest is the world’s largest beer festival and is a very important part of Bavarian culture. It is a 16 to 18 day festival that runs from mid September to the first Sunday in October. At exactly 12:00 noon, the mayor of Munich taps the first beer barrel shouting the traditional exclamation, “O’zapft is!” (“It’s tapped!”).
TASTING NOTES
Reflective of the Fall season, Oktoberfest has a rich amber hue, medium body and malty bouquet. Blending together 3 roasts of barley to create a delicious harmony of sweet flavours including caramel and toffee. The elegant bitterness imparted by the German Noble hops keeps it perfectly balanced and provides a wonderful transition from the lighter beers of summer to the winter’s heartier brews.
